Mitsubishi Motors PH to recall Montero Sport and Strada for Safety Inspection CampaignPAGETITLE
Today, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation headed by Mr. Hikosaburo Shibata produces thousands of vehicles a year, plant along Ortigas Ave. Ext.., Cainta, Rizal. He is leading the company focusing on four major concerns: Manufacturing, Marketing, Labor / Management Corporation and Community Involvement. Customers Satisfaction remaining to be the underlying commitment, the importance of delivering products and services to the customer remains to be the thrust of marketing activities and efforts of the company. For the past 48 years of existence in Automotive Industry, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation continues to offer quality products and services in the market.
Suddenly unexpected issues came to the company that affects the whole company’s operation. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation recalled thousands of Montero Sport and Strada model due to possible welding issue, the car manufacturer announced in a statement last August 26, 2013. Based on their statement, MMPC will conduct a safety inspection campaign to some Montero Sport and Strada models sold from 2011 and 2012. Customers can check the MMPC website if their vehicle is included in the so called safety inspection campaign by checking the Vehicle Identification Number or (VIN) in the website. MMPC stated that they will inspect the weld condition of the front suspension lower arm ant the front propeller shaft of the four-wheel drive models, and the reclining switch of the Montero Sports driver’s seat. The company said that the so called “recall” is a proactive measure and there has been no reported failures and incidents related to the weld. MMPC President and CEO Hikosaburo Shibata extended his apology to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused by the safety inspection campaign. He stated that Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Philippines already mobilized its operation to communicate to all affected customers and their service centers have been prepared to the safety inspection campaign.
Many reviews and comments all over the social media site became trending because of the issues faced by Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation. Some said that the MMPC also need to check the sudden acceleration of Montero Sport while stepping to gas pedal. According to U.S lawsuits new car models today may have a sudden acceleration because nowadays new models used electronic accelerating device instead of cables instead, they started to use wires and once it malfunction it may happen just like the claims of few Toyota Prius owner. Customers also stated that it is proven because one customer told his experience after getting out parking in the mall parking space the car Montero Sport the sub suddenly accelerated so fast where the driver lost his control, side swept a parked car and collided with a passing car at the corner of the exit lane. In my opinion, based on the reviews and comments I read in some social networking sites, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporations should stated that the so called “recall” or safety inspection campaign is just a “proactive” measures and they haven’t received any failure report or incidents. They should not set aside this kind of issue because it will greatly affect the whole company operations and sales. These are the real people who owned and may be one of the people that have the same issue or worst than the others.
But still to be equal to each side we should give MMPC a time to investigate and do their roles as they known to be the second biggest seller of automobiles where they hold on and off over a decade and an Automotive firm which the goal is to continuously offer a quality products and services.
